Because no child should be hungry

In Onslow County, 22 percent of children live in food-insecure households, according to data from the Onslow Caring Community Foundation. As a result, when school cafeterias are closed for school breaks, food is not guaranteed.

In 2024, we were able to provide food to 54 students for spring break and another 33 for summer break.

In 2025, with our community's assistance, we were able to provide breakfast, lunch and snacks to more than 240 Richlands and Southwest Onslow students this spring break as well as 10 Chinquapin Elementary and 10 Jacksonville High School students.

In 2026, our community provided 464 spring break kits to students in Onslow County.  A special thank you to Marine Federal Credit Union, Food Lion, Publix, Richlands Methodist Church, and Whaley’s Chapel Church for your generous support and partnership.
